Original Medarot Games Receives English Fan Translation 23 Years Later

Over 23 years in the making, you can now finally play the original Medarot video game in English. Originally teased on this site back in 2015, the fan effort to translate the first entry in the franchise has finally reached a playable state. Imagineer officially reveals Medarot Day announcements

Weekly Medarot Broadcast debuts December 27th

The official Twitter account for the Weekly Medarot Broadcast column has announced that the first issue will become available on December 27th in the Manga HOT app. Additionally, the account shared the finished logo (above) for Hakubayashi‘s Medarot Re – Reloaded manga series that’ll be serialized in the column.

Imagineer launches Weekly Medarot Broadcast column featuring new manga, design contest

Imagineer has announced a collaboration with the mobile app Manga HOT to launch Weekly Medarot Broadcast, a column the company will begin in late December. It’ll feature reader participation as well as two new manga series, Medarot Short (working title) by franchise staple Horuma Rin and Medarot Re – Reloaded by franchise newcomer Hakubayashi. The latter was described as starring Rokuyo Kagami, a former Medarot great, aiming to win the World Robattle Cup. The company shared a preview image of the series:

Medarot: The Koishimaru Collection due out in October

Kodansha is reviving their Medarot manga reissues this fall. The company’s Re:ComicBonBon label has announced the October 23rd release of two new Medarot collections. Centred around Medarot 5 and Medarot G protagonist Koishimaru Tensan, the release aims to compile Horuma Rin’s manga series duo of the name. The new books will retail for 1000 and 1200 yen respectively.

Medarot 5 was originally serialized in the monthly Comic BonBon anthology magazine between the December 2001 and June 2002 issues. Kodansha previously published the series through two individual volumes in July and August 2002. Medarot G ran in Comic BonBon between its August 2002 and July 2003 issues.
