Imagineer absorbs Rocket Company

rocketlogoStarting July 1st, 2016, Rocket Company will be no more. The Japanese publisher behind the Medarot games will be merged with its parent company Imagineer. The move is being made as Imagineer plans to transition its business to focus less on packaged software for dedicated gaming devices and more on games for smart phones/tablets. While the company will continue to release games on dedicated platforms, worsening market conditions will see fewer titles launch as they review their business strategy. Medarot 8 TV Commercial And Trailer

Rocket Company has released both the 30 second TV commercial and debut trailer for Medarot 8. Not only does the trailer feature new traditional animation and an overview of the gameplay systems, it also reveals the voice actors for the title. Medarot 8 Website Opens To Reveal Box Art, Manga And More

Earlier in the week, Rocket Company opened up the Medarot 8 website. While it’s far from complete, it does shed some new details on the upcoming 3DS game, as well as its related products. As always, the game will ship in two versions, Kabuto and Kuwagata, with slight variations in content between the two. The mascot Medarot for this release are Metabee and Rokusho. Yesterday morning we received word on that Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu had announced Medarot 8 for Nintendo 3DS. As is usually the case in those early leaks, details were scarce. Famtisu uploaded their preview of the magazine article, which reveals some new details as well as a better look at the game. Medarot 8 Coming To 3DS This August

This week’s Famitsu has revealed that Rocket Company are planning to launch a new Medarot game soon. Medarot 8: Kabuto Version and Medarot 8: Kuwagata Version are in development for the Nintendo 3DS with a scheduled launch date of August 28th. The game will retail for 5,800yen with early purchases being entitled to a soundtrack CD as a bonus.

While details are currently scant, the game is said to feature revamped visuals for both the characters and world in full 3D. As usual, online support will allow users to trade parts and battle friends. Additionally, Medarot 8 has been designed to ease newcomers into the series.
