First painted Kotobukiya Arcbeetle model kit images surface

Kotobukiya announced their seventh Medarot model kit back in July with an unpainted prototype of KBT-04M Arcbeetle. At this weekend’s Miyazawa Model Exhibition 2017 Autumn trade show, the company revealed the paint scheme for the first time:

Kotobukiya announces Arcbeetle model kit

At the company’s summer 2017 Wonder Festival booth, Kotobukiya announced its seventh Medarot model kit, the first new one in years, KBT-04M Arcbeetle. While an unpainted prototype was showcased, pricing details and a release window have yet to be determined.

Kotobukiya’s Medarot line started in 2011 with Gun-Nose. Prior to Arcbeetle, the last kit was 2014’s release of Saikachis. Kotobukiya routinely reissued earlier entries due to fan demand. Read the rest of this entry »

Kotobukiya’s Cyandog model kit will be released in January

BU5Q7Y9CYAAfNKK.jpg large Originally announced at the summer Wonder Festival, Kotobukiya’s Cyandog DOG00-M model kit has now received some additional info. Set for release this upcoming January the model kit stands 150mm tall as a 1:6 scale release that will set you back ¥3,990 (~$40). Much like Kotobukiya’s previous Medarot releases, Cyandog will feature swappable visors, a medal, rifle effect parts, and the ability to push out the model’s chest line canon.

Kotobukiya Cyandog model kit is set for release in 2014

wfkoto6At the summer Wondercon Festival 2013 in Japan, model kit manufacturer Kotobukiya announced another entry into their successful Medarot line. From Medarot DS, DOG00-M Cyandog will be released in 2014. It’ll be the first Kotobukiya Medarot release to not be based on a Kabuto, or Kuwagata type Medarot.

Kotobukiya Medarot DS KWG-10M Sanjuro model kit detailed, dated for June 2013

The previously announced Sanjuro model kit from Kotobukiya has recently been detailed. The newest in the company’s Medabots line stands at a 1/6th scale for a figure that stands at six inches tall. The kit will include ample pose ability thanks to over 160 different parts including a variety of arms, and eyes. However, the most interesting accessory included is the addition of Knight Armor’s left arm for part swapping. There’s no word on if you’ll be able to swap parts from Kotobukiya’s previous Metabee, Rokusho, and Gun-Nose kits with Sanjuro, but it appears Knight Armor’s shield arm is backwards compatible with earlier kits.
