Natsume passes on localizing Medarot 7

Responding to a comment from a fan on Facebook hoping for a Medarot 7 announcement at E3, the company responded with a disheartening reply:

"It doesn't look like Medabots 7 is in the cards. Hopefully maybe the next one."

Not exactly the response we were hoping for, especially after the company expressed interest in the game … The reply isn’t all negative, saying that there’s a chance for future games in the series to receive a localization. Unfortunately, I’m not too optimistic on the chances of that coming true. Medarot 7 was a very special case in that it was a 15th Anniversary title that ignored the events of the previous unlocalized entry, Medarot DS. I don’t think we’ll get another chance to see a game where that will be the case, nor do I expect Metabee and Rokusho, two recognizable faces for western audiences to be the mascots for a potential Medarot 8.

Imagineer posts higher revenues due to Medarot 7

medarot7imagineerImagineer, owner of Medarot series publisher Rocket Company reported their fiscal results for the year ending March 31, 2013. The packaged software division reporting revenues of 633 million yen compared to 401 million the year before. The company attributes the rise to the release of Medarot 7, and Neratte! Tobashite! Rilakkuma GuraGura Sweets Tower for 3DS. Touching on Medarot 7, the company highlighted running the short manga series in Saikyo Jump as a success. Interestingly, the company says it will start aiming software more towards a female audience as Imagineer feels that audience leads itself well to games with longer sales windows, rather than the front loaded nature of games targeted at men. For the next fiscal year the company expects packaged software sales to decline to 554 million yen.

Medarot 7 Manga’s First Chapter Fan-translated Into English

Community member Heated Phoenix has something fairly exciting to share with us! He’s in the process of scanning, and translating the entirety of the Medarot 7 manga. You’ll remember that the manga series ran from the August to October issues of Saikyo Jump, with a special one shot coming in the January issue. Created by Tanaka Yasuki, the series stars Azuma and Metabee as their friendship is put to the test when a meteorite collides into their town. 100 lucky fans in Japan to receive a Medarot Premium Soundtrack CD

BEQy-uBCcAI38Hd Rocket Company have announced that fans who send in the survey card insert in physical copies of Medarot 7 will be entered to win one of 100 limited edition Premium Soundtrack CDs. While no track listing was given I imagine you’ll have to be a Japanese citizen to have a chance at winning. No general soundtrack release has been announced.

UPDATE:

An alternate cover art featuring KWG type Rokusho has been revealed. Unfortunately, with this news came the confirmation that Rocket Company will not be selling the soundtracks separately. Read the rest of this entry »





Medarot 7 now available to download from the Japanese Nintendo eShop

ico_softwareRocket Company have announced that both versions of Medarot 7 are now available as downloads on the Nintendo eShop for Japanese 3DS owners. The game will cost you 6,090 yen which is exactly the same price as the physical release from September, how courteous of them …





Third Medarot 7 WiFi event detailed

The third, and currently the last scheduled Medarot 7 Wi-Fi even has been detailed on the game’s website. Running from January 3rd to February 6th, 2013 users will be able to face off against a mysterious Medarot team comprising of Samurai, Chaos Fixer, and someone I’m not too sure of. As well, owners are eligible to receive formerly JUMP Festa exclusive Garutman. Rocket Company haven’t announced any plans for further Wi-Fi events once this one concludes.
