It’s April 1st and Medarot is celebrating in style. The official social media accounts for the Digimon franchise revealed a new addition: Omedamon, a mysterious Digimon born from the data of a popular game in the late 20th century. Designed by Digital Monster regular Asmaria, the new character was an official part of the Digimon Reference Book until 6PM JST.
Returning the favour, the official Medarotsha account unveiled its own new creation: Omega Knight, a mysterious Holy knight Medarot developed with a certain popular game from the late 20th century in mind. Designed by franchise regular Tyuga, the new character was officially on the Medarot fanclub from 10AM to 6PM JST.
Both Medarot and Digimon debuted in 1997. For more information on Omedamon, check out Wikimon.
The celebrations didn’t stop there, though. Medarot S: Unlimited Nova marked the date with its own unique campaign: a limited-time start screen based on the original Medarot video game. Some fans have captured the opening sequence so those not playing the game can experience it.
A crossover of 2 of my absolute favorite things! This is definitely one of the best April 1st I’ve ever had!
