Kotobukiya announces Arcbeetle Dash model kit, teases Tyrelbeetle

10 07 2018

Kotobukiya has announced its eighth Medarot model kit, KBT06-C Arcbeetle Dash. Due out in November for ¥5,500, the kit stands at 144mm tall, representing a 1/6 scale recreation. The kit was designed by Mitsunobu Tamura.

Like the other Medarot kits produced by the company, Arcbeetle Dash includes swappable fists and visors, as well as little replica medal and a stand for it. Kotobukiya is promising a great deal of accuracy, with attention to detail focused on the changes from the original Arcbeetle, including a number of completely redesigned back pieces. This also means support for Arcbeetle Dash’s Medachange functionality. While Dash will not feature shootable projectiles, the kit is physically larger than base Arcbeetle.

Like with the earlier Arcbeetle kit, the official Medarotters Store and Kotobukiya shops are offering a limited amount of transparent horn pieces to replicate Dash’s Appendix attacks. Exclusive to the Medarotters store is an additional postcard featuring art by Tyuga, which will be used on the kit’s box. Both retailers are selling the kit for ¥5,940 (taxes included). The Medarotters pre-order period is between July 10th and August 21st.

The news comes as Kotobukiya plans on reissuing four of its earlier Medarot model kits in November:

Purchasing any of the above four, as well as KWG00-M Rokusho, from the Medarotters Store will entitle you to receive a bonus postcard featuring the kit’s box art.

Like Arcbeetle Dash, the preorder period is between July 10th and August 21st, with items expected to ship out in November.

If all of that wasn’t enough, Kotobukiya’s page for Arcbeetle Dash features a teaser for their next kit, set to be revealed at the 2018 Summer Wonder Festival:

Tyrelbeetle shares a combination with Arcbeetle Dash named MasterBeetle. Will Kotobukiya keep that functionality? We’ll just have to wait and see.
